Indraxi Kanjilal Playing the Role Prarthana in Serial Pushpa Impossible, Talks
Sony SAB’s ‘Pushpa Impossible’ takes us through the heartwarming tale of Pushpa (Karuna Pandey), a kind-hearted woman who has a strong determination to take on the challenges coming her way head on with unwavering positivity. In a candid conversation Indraxi Kanjilal who plays the role of Prarthana, Pushpa’s daughter in law opened about her two-year journey and shared some behind the scenes details about her show Pushpa Impossible.
- How has Prarthana’s character changed over time?
Prarthana’s character was different at the start. Initially, she was a soft spoken, sweet and naïve girl and after two years now, Prarthana’s character has evolved, she has become a little mature. She knows how to speak her heart out and confront others. People generally hide their emotions but that is not the case with Prarthana. She speaks whenever she feels something is wrong and confronts others.
- Now that Prarthana is back at Bapodara Chawl and having conflicts with Deepti over chores, how will she deal with it?
I believe Prarthana as a character has been a little insecure of Deepti as according to her everybody gives more attention to Deepti. Of course, that’s a very immature side of her, but such insecurity is also a very natural human trait. How she manages the situations at home and how her emotions emerge will be quite interesting to watch.
- As Prarthana, your storyline included a miscarriage. How did you prepare for this role?
Prarthana at the start was against having a baby and when she got to know that she is pregnant she had a panic attack and an emotional breakdown. She was at the edge thinking how did she conceive? Later on when she faced the miscarriage, her emotions were different and she felt extremely sad facing the loss of her child. Our show deals with a lot of sensitive topics and this is one of the sensitive issues that has been dealt with a lot of compassion and empathy.
- Without giving away too much, what can we expect from Prarthana in the upcoming episodes?
I don’t want to reveal much as I want the audience to see it themselves and learn what all other traits are going to be revealed for the character of Prarthana
but all I can say is you are going to see a very angry Prarthana (Indraxi Kanjilal)screaming her lungs out and voicing her issues more strongly.
- You’ve been with ‘Pushpa Impossible’ for 2 years now. How has the experience been?
These two years have taught me a lot, at the start I was a naive girl who didn’t know anything about cameras like what is a two-shot? I was completely new to this industry, and this is my first Hindi show. For the first 6-7 months I was trying to learn everything, but things didn’t always go
according to plan. I have learned a lot from a professional point of view as my acting skills have improved. Earlier I would just deliver my lines and leave but now it isn’t the case anymore. I have also learnt a lot of life lessons.
